some have difference point of view percpetion on raven said say don't remember playing the character before begining to film to begin the cosby show some believe that it was mk ualtra mind control possession that hollywood is evil has a dark side they don't want us to know about and some believe that raven is lying and some believe raven is telling the truth
That's BS. have they forgotten this Alyson could be more outstanding actor professional into LGBT movie? Definitely she needs to change the product management. Have you forgotten that Jojo Siwa, and some other stardoms came out from closet too? And Alex Newell is queer, won the Grammy's lately.
Alyson, this series is incredible. In the late ‘00s, I wrote for a teen magazine called Pixie that was owned by American Media, Inc. I was actually on staff at another of their entertainment magazines, but AMI forced their writers to contribute to Pixie - for no extra pay. I pitched ideas for serious articles that might help teens, but AMI wanted to focus on fashion, TV, etc. So, we had many photo-driven pieces with a million pics of Miley or Selena in cute dresses. I interviewed most of the Nick and Disney kids - probably you at some point - and as a then 30something adult, it always felt “off” to me to be chatting with a kid about work schedules - as if we’re peers. On the flip side, I worried about how printing this collection of flashy, curated images would influence kids who read the magazine. Pixie was a blip on the radar, but was still part of that child actor “machine.” Hearing all of the stories coming out lately about the young stars from that time has been heartbreaking, especially knowing that we were presenting this glittery, false facade to our readers. I apologize for even being a small part of that culture … and hope this series leads to some change and legislation in the industry.
I’m good, just scrolling through yt.
The media really aids to push the celebs are rich not like us and have no probs we own them etc yet at same time go “oh no what happened why are these child stars spiraling? Who knows. Guess fame is tough.” It’s really disgusting.
I am also so sorry about you being assaulted and I’m hoping you are healing from this experience ❤️🩹 it is never your fault
Me watching this *Killing Me Softly quietly playing in the background*
I’ve been seriously reeling and processing a lot with my career choices and how it’s all built on both positive and negative attempts to fixing trauma from being a child performer. So many of us have HUGE issues with boundaries and a lot of us weren’t treated as “human” in a lot of scenarios. I complained that it felt like I never got a REAL connection with my REAL family and how that’s affected my entire life and led me in the exact same places as you and many others. I have SO much to say about this but all I have to say in the comments is thanks for this series ❤
I’m so sorry this happened to you and I fully support you! ❤ We’re about the same age and I’ve been following you for a long time! I just rewatched the amazing Missy tribute dance video you put together with TMilly. Simply incredible.🎉
The reality of this is making me so concerned for children on Reality TV shows. Where children are being filmed, sometimes since birth, in their own home. But there doesn't seem to be any more safety than what is spoken of on film sets. I get scared that there is less. I see children naked, going to the doctor, twins to quintuplets having their weight and school work compared to one another, therapy sessions, potty training... Everywhere they go the camera is rolling and everyone knows who they are and everyone in the comment section speaks as if these children are their own! When I question the exploitation and harm that this is doing, I'm told to shut up and that these are wonderful families and they're doing nothing wrong but providing a great life and financial profit for their children. But it's such a high price for these children who can't consent to pay! 😥
I love that Alyson is answering the questions that must be asked while becoming a child star while also making a plan to fix it. Alyson has.answered the questions of what becoming a child actor is like what are the risk of being a child star and what the experience might be like as a child star by giving some of her own experiences. But I'm also happy that there are people like Alyson that are giving advice on being a child star and how being a child star could effect you in many ways.
This is the best, most insightful piece of media on this topic imo. I hope it helps to save even one child from being harmed, and that non-famous people will learn to judge former and current child stars less harshly. You're doing something incredible, Alyson, and I wish you and all others hurt by the entertainment industry healing, peace, and the most beautiful lives each and every one of you can possibly achieve. 🙏
'Not quite the lead, supporting' I saw you in 2010 in Step Up 3 (I watched it many times) and remembered you so well that many years later I tried to find you :))) So you're not only "supporting":))
I can't believe this song is 10 years old! I remember when this song first came out ❤️
I blame Paula Abdul.
At first when you asked us in episode one to set our personal thoughts aside and step in and just listen, I thought, Oh no, I relate to others through my personal experiences. I learnt this technique because I had high functioning autism. I wasn't diagnosed and relieved to find that out as a 32 year old. Now I understand why you said that. I appreciate you telling us to do that. The thought that a child could be touched even innocently without being asked permission is unacceptable. I studied child psychology when I was getting my teaching qualification and then certain parts were also talked about in my training to be a foster Mum. Everyone working around kids should be aware of everything you say, whether it's the producer, fellow actor, the people doing hair or make up etc. Just so they realise what is appropriate and what is most certainly not.
I'm watching because the same thing is happening with family vloggers on social media. These families earn money by telling the world every personal detail about the child. You just need to look at the 8 passengers videos to see where it can go. I do discuss this issue with youtubers that are working towards exposing this because someone needs to stand up for the toxic environment that the kids can't get away from because they are filmed by their parents at home. I'm wondering if there is anything in your series that I can pass on to a youtuber who will use it for good.
The Johnson’s boys dad was my teacher and let me tell you I grew up with Alyson on my tv so wild
Okay you’re just showing off haha 🧡🧡🧡🧡

I’m commenting on every video in the series after watching in full. A truly incredible feat to get all of this important information and life experience out to us. Needs way more views and I sincerely hope this is the start of a u-turn on what hollywood, media and social media has done to children and innocence itself.
